Solar PV Installation Case Studies

DHR install 1.75 kWp PV System in Essex solar pv domestic case study installation

Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
PV Capacity: 1.75 kWp
Approximate electricity generated per year: 1,459 kWh
Approximate CO2 displaced from atmosphere per year: 829 kg

This mains-connected system is mounted on tile roof of a cottage and consists of ten TopSolar photovoltaic modules, an inverter and generation meter.

The customer will receive an income from the feed-in tariff as below:

Generation Credit = 1,459 kilowatt hours per year * 41.3 pence per kilowatt hour = £602.56 per year An additional sum will be reduced from their annual electricity bill because the PV electricity used directly in the residence no longer has to be imported from the mains. The customer also benefits from a bonus credit of 3p/unit against 50% of the total units generated by their microgeneration system as it is assumed that some export back to the grid was possible.
